Half of all people who have weight loss surgery, regain all the weight again after 2 years. I hope you will not be one of those who goes back to eating sugars/starches. Read "WHY WE GET FAT AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT" by Gary Taubes. I got it at the library.
