To have a very haelthy BMI.142 lbs.To do 15 minutes of cardio everyday.Eventually to be able to run for 15 mins.To have a healthy waist measurement. To better my time this year for the "accross the lake swim" and qualify for the next fastest grouping. Last years' time was 42 mins. for the 2.1 km swim.

I am 48 yrs.old, married 20 yrs. and have one daughter. We live in Kelowna, B.C.. For 16 yrs. we lived in a very remote area, which did not work for me at all. I became deppressed, developed some very poor habits and gained 70lbs.. For the past three yrs. we've been living in a great little city with lots of opportunities for healthy activities with a brand new 50m pool/fitness centre and the Greenway(milles of pathways along a natural creek) within walking. Since Sept.2008 I have lost 50lbs. through lots of swimming, some strength training and portion control eacept for giant salads. I shoot for around 500 cals. per meal. Consistency is always the challenge what with depression, ADD, OCD, and/or maby its just hormones from hell perhaps caused from not controlling blood sugar levels hence insulin(??). Measurements taken Sept.'08 were; thighs--25", calves--15", chest--47", waist--39", hips--47". Measurements taken Jan.30'11 were: thighs--17", calves--131/2, chest--40", waist 35", hips 4

It took years of unhealthy eating habits and giving into your cravings that finally brought you here. When the cravings begin, REPLACE all poor habits with healthy foods/snacks such as fruits, vegetables, sugar-free candies/gum and water. Though, it may take time for you and your body to adjust to these changes, you will notice that you actually enjoy this healthier way of living.
THROW OUT by GIVING TO THE NEAREST FOOD PANTRY in your area, all the junk food and unhealthy beverages that are in your cabinets and refrigerator. Not only are they sabotaging your will power, the Food Pantry will be grateful for your generous donations. If it's not in your home, it's impossible to be eaten! Start a NEW GROCERY LIST! REPLACE with nutritional foods, snacks, water and beverages. Repeat each month.
Use the SparkPoints for tracking your nutrition by journaling everything that goes into your mouth. Do not go over your daily calories, carbs, fats and protein ranges. Repeat daily.
Use the SparkPoints for tracking both of your daily fitness programs (exercise and cardio). Burn more calories than what you eat, but it is IMPORTANT to stay within your nutritional ranges. Repeat daily.

I have a huge collection of workout videos-I've been on a Cathe Freidrich streak this week, but today the lineup includes a classic Firm video (floor aerobics with light weights) and a Karen Voight video-BLT butt legs and tummy all on a stability ball.
I just purchased a kettlebell and my first video, it wasn't as difficult as i expected, I think i need to try a different workout. Days i don't want to do a video, I have an elliptical, jumprope and plenty of dumbells/plates to work with. I pondering a treadmill now. I live in Maine, and don't really get outside to exercise for the whole winter.
