To have a very haelthy BMI.142 lbs.To do 15 minutes of cardio everyday.Eventually to be able to run for 15 mins.To have a healthy waist measurement. To better my time this year for the "accross the lake swim" and qualify for the next fastest grouping. Last years' time was 42 mins. for the 2.1 km swim.
cardio every day; inclined walking on treadmill,12% @ aprox.3mph for 15 mins. or swimming; 50 free,50 br, 50 back alternating for 15 mins. heartrate @ aprox. 145/min, 10 min.cooldown and stretching exercises.weights, either free @ home or machines @ gym twice a week and core exercises
I am 48 yrs.old, married 20 yrs. and have one daughter. We live in Kelowna, B.C.. For 16 yrs. we lived in a very remote area, which did not work for me at all. I became deppressed, developed some very poor habits and gained 70lbs.. For the past three yrs. we've been living in a great little city with lots of opportunities for healthy activities with a brand new 50m pool/fitness centre and the Greenway(milles of pathways along a natural creek) within walking. Since Sept.2008 I have lost 50lbs. through lots of swimming, some strength training and portion control eacept for giant salads. I shoot for around 500 cals. per meal. Consistency is always the challenge what with depression, ADD, OCD, and/or maby its just hormones from hell perhaps caused from not controlling blood sugar levels hence insulin(??). Measurements taken Sept.'08 were; thighs--25", calves--15", chest--47", waist--39", hips--47". Measurements taken Jan.30'11 were: thighs--17", calves--131/2, chest--40", waist 35", hips 4

i tried doing laps last week - and can't believe how hard it is! It used to be so effortless! I did 100 yards - slow as molasses in january - and thought my arms were going to fall off. it was really fun to get in the water, though. I'm going to have to make it happen a little more often, I can see!
