Coming Around Again...

5/29/14: Thank you for stopping by!
my job has become less sedentary and has prompted me to make changes to keep up. I have gotten into a fitness regimen to do strength work before I have to go to work and make the most of the two patrols I must do, four nights a week. I am looking to walk home or to my parents house from work on Sunday, which is the one day I have no patrol. Both homes are about 2mi's from work, walking 3mi's/night should make this cake, but I'm planning to start ...

my job has become less sedentary and has prompted me to make changes to keep up. I have gotten into a fitness regimen to do strength work before I have to go to work and make the most of the two patrols I must do, four nights a week. I am looking to walk home or to my parents house from work on Sunday, which is the one day I have no patrol. Both homes are about 2mi's from work, walking 3mi's/night should make this cake, but I'm planning to start gradual.

My body is coming, somehow (Should I say, "Smart cookie"?) to reject sugar and many processed foods. Not sure there is a health issue- my blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure and other systems have been normal every-single-time I get them checked, DESPITE being in a scary and scornful BMI. I'm just going to see how long this goes and try to nudge it further, should I feel a swing the other way.

In my heart, I'm a writer and I'm hoping to publish by my birthday if not that of a close friend's - he's been rather inspiring. I want to market at the local ComicCon coming this fall, so I'm hoping to shed about 25lbs by that time. My partner's birthday is the week after ComicCon, so it'd be win-win.

I'm hoping to develop the discipline to stick with a health/fitness "Streak" as well as finish the first volume in time for the publication dates I've set. I've had some fun with ADD, but it tends to get in the way of my deeper goals. It would be good to move beyond that apparent limitation and get where I've wanted to be for nearly 20 years.

Fitness Minutes: 1,303

My Goals:
1: reclaim sense of self-esteem and discipline
2: to stick with a fitness regimen for longer than a month. Minimum 10 mins, 5x a week.
3: learn to make meals for myself (Not necessarily cook, if I can get away with it.)
4: Improve mental health and function. Working with Affirmations, journaling - or Blogging, here, and overall mental fitness activity daily.
5: Shed 50-75 pounds with a focus on cardio activity as well as trimming up my midsection.
*25 (+/-) by early-mid November to start and see where I can go from there.

My Program:
My work out regimen basically goes with my work schedule. I'm very into Bodyweight workouts including, but not limited to, Pilates. I'm a fan of 10Min workouts, but the following layout is often more intensive.
*M: Upper body
*W: Core
*Th: Upper Body
*F: Lower Body.
I walk about 3 miles a night, four nights a week for my job and have been doing what I can to make it a real workout.

As many quick/easy recipes as I can get from SparkPeople, focusing on no-cook breakfast and lunches.
Breadless- if I can hack it. I am also looking to minimize, if not eliminate, fast food.
But, making more of my own meals will be a great start!

Affirmations and journaling along with mental fitness activity such as vocabulary building.

Personal Information:
36 Y/o Polyamorous Leo Woman in Rhode Island. Been the "Big Girl" most of my life - not only curvy but TALL. Get some cardio fitness through a job in Security, two hour-long patrols a night, four nights a week, including a flight of stairs.

Other Information:
My primary Partner, Beppo71 has slimmed down quite a bit through his work and ease of kitchenry and food. I've always been intimidated by certain foods and the kitchen, in general. It's a process for me and I am also working to overcome a lazy streak the length and breadth of California.
