I live in rural Florida with my husband, 2 kids, 2 dogs and 2 cats. I'm working on opening an after school center in our community for the elementary and middle school students. I like to cook and garden and make time to get to the beach whenever possible.

My Goals:
I'm trying to keep fit and eat a healthy diet in hopes that the habits will rub off on the kids. It was much easier 20 years ago to just drop a couple of pounds by skipping dessert. Making small changes over the past few years has made sticking to our plan easy.
My Program:
We've given up soda and many processed foods. Last year I started a vegetable garden so we can grow fresh produce to eat and to share. We get outside for at least an hour just about every day. And I try to limit the amount of time the TV is on :)
Personal Information:
My husband and I are orignally from Texas and after moving and travelling for a variety of reasons, we finally settled in Labelle, Florida, the best place I've ever lived!
