Sweetneey, you brought a smile to my face with a memory from my childhood. On Ghostflames' blog today you mentioned having Cornish hens at the holiday. My mom always made a turkey for the holidays and neither my dad nor I ate any of it since I never liked meat & my dad didn't like turkey. One year for Christmas, she placed the platter on the table and it had a lid on it. She handed my dad the carving knife and when she removed the lid, she had cooked solely a Cornish hen for us all to share. We laughed our way through the entire dinner - and my dad & I really enjoyed not having to eat any of the meat that year.
