Health Journey -- One day at a time
My name is Wendy. I now embark on a journey to becoming more healthy. The steps that it will take -- to change the diet and to exercise more -- all seem simple in theory. However, when put into practice, are a life long commitment. They go into every facet of one's life -- and into many of the choices that one makes throughout the day. Realizing this, I'm here to help myself commit to those goals.

Realizing this, I'm here to help myself commit to those goals.
This past June, I watched my best friend's husband have a heart attack -- and she was then diagnosed with conjunctive heart failure. The reality of how the diet causes these things is jump starting me to make these efforts.
**update** 12/28/07 And now the husband of another friend of mine had a heart attack just over a month ago. I think messages to "get healthy" are being knocked over my head in less than subtle ways...

My Goals:
To become healthy and have more energy. As a byproduct, I hope to lose weight, but that is only a secondary goal.
My Program:
1. Exercise daily -- walking or golfing
2. lower carbs!
3. lower processed foods!
4. lower sugar and fats
5. lower dairy -- that's a big one!
6. Portion Control!!!
7. To become more organized and less haphazard in my eating and exercise habits
