It has been a while since I have been on. With my dad's recent health problems has had my mom and I taking care of him, someone always needed to be home. He had a stroke in Jan. 2009, he was recovering pretty good, he still was very weak on his left side and he was able to drive, he got around with a cane and a walker, he tried many times to walk around the house with nothing he was doing pretty good with that.
Then Jan. 5, 2010, he went to see a Radiologist about some chest pains, they told my dad to go to the hospital to decide what to do next, well....he had triple by-pass surgery on the 7th of Jan. One day soon after my brother went to see my dad and my brother reported back to us that my dad would be coming home in 3 or 4 days, I thought yay again my dad gets to come home after another scare, but on Jan. 20, we get a call from the hospital that my dad had passed away that morning. My mom and I had seen him the day before and he was white (pale), I asked the doctor why, all he could mutter was white cell count, anemia. Then my dad wanted to tell the doctor a story (my dad loves telling stories) and the doctor said yeah, ok and walked off, because my dad wanted to collected his thoughts first then continue on with his story, but the doctor had to make his runs. So I never got to know why, etc., the next morning the doctor called to say my dad had passed away. My mom is having problems with eating at home, so we eat out. Yes my weight is coming back, but I am trying my best to eat healthy and wise.
I have also had problems with SparkPeople freezing up on me, tonite (2/14/2010) is my first attempt in a while to be able to stay on without my computer freezing up. I'm hoping I can come back on and chat with everyone. My chat is off right now, I don't have the chat box anymore, why, I don't know. I can chat in the chat room, not the box in the lower left corner, but the chat room, and you can always sparkmail me too. I would love to hear from all of you. It was nice to have some people to chat with. I haven't met too many people but the ones I have met are so friendly, supportive etc, this is such a nice place to be even if you just want to talk. SparkPeople Rocks!
I would like to lose at least 30 pounds by this summer, I want to swim with my daughter, who loves to go swimming. The last few summers I have been a little too heavy to go swimming, so my goal is to swim.
My goals to achieve all of this is - well I don't really have any, because I am not motivated to exercise and I know that exercise and watching what I eat is the key to success, but this time around I'm using a product to help me lose this weight, it has helped out. But the most change I would say is that I am walking a little more and drinking more water. I was told if you're not motivated enough to exercise then walk, so thats what I'm doing, just not as much as I should, I don't walk everyday, I walk maybe for 40 minutes, it might go another month or two before I go again, but I'm doing it, slowing but surely, but I do walk and thats the key to sucess is exercise. My goal is to do more exercising and drinking more water.
