REGAINING CONTROL

Highlights of my journey.

I restarted once again this leg of my journey in May 2007. I weighed 318, from my all time high of 348. I had done ATKINS in 1998 and lost from 348 down to 246, and yes I regained over time back up to 318.

I restarted once again this leg of my journey in May 2007. I weighed 318, from my all time high of 348. I had done ATKINS in 1998 and lost from 348 down to 246, and yes I regained over time back up to 318.

My current weight is 242. I have tons more energy than I had in May of 2007. That was my time of feeling like it was do or die. I felt so bad, I had just lost my brother in January of that year and was in a really bad place. I felt if I didn't do something about my health my parents would be burying another child, only this time to something that was preventable...OBESITY.

My journey to date has had lots of obstacles along the way. My DH was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, and I had a lot of stress over the past summer. He has been scanned recently and is in remission. Talk about a Thanksgiving when there was much to be thankful for.

Currently, I am trying to refocus my diet part of my journey. I have been committed to exercising for the past year and half and have just recently at the end of summer started to add more variety to my exercise plan. I was doing water aerobics 3 x + a week. Today I am doing additional cardio, like spin bike and eliptical trainer, I also have started some weight lifting classes.

As far as my diet goes, I have been mostly doing low carb, but finding it hard to stay away from those simple carbs lately. I also was trying to count calories, but have come to realize I don't like journaling everyday. I wish it were easier. There actually was a time that i did journal daily and made it a priority, but I have become lax in this area.

I did KK last year, I am still a member at Jimmy Moore's LivinlaVida, and also am a member at AMY's Eating low. I think having support online has been a real key to my not completely losing focus of my goal.

Even though I have been a member here for sometime, I have never really got to know this site or all of it's features. I do know I don't like the Food Tracker here. I do love the workout videos.

That's pretty much it for now. As I said I am not a journaler at this point, so don't be surprised by the rare updates this page.
