hi, I'm swati... I'm 26 years old and ready for a healthier life.
I have done the whole yo-yo dieting routine, trying out ridiculous stuff but thankfully never any weight loss pills - they wreck havoc with your system.


I had joined spark earlier but i was never active on the forum or the communities. I seriously under-estimated the power of thousands of people egging you on to do your best. Nutrition tracker, articles etc all are good but what is precious is realizing ...

I had joined spark earlier but i was never active on the forum or the communities. I seriously under-estimated the power of thousands of people egging you on to do your best. Nutrition tracker, articles etc all are good but what is precious is realizing you are not alone. There are people all over going through exactly what you are.

The biggest obstacle for me is the dreaded "all or nothing" mentality. If i can't follow my weight loss plan 100%, then i tend to abandon and start afresh the next month. In the meantime i go crazy eating (more than i would ordinarily) thinking "oh! i'm going to start dieting on so-and-so date so i will not get the chance to eat this stuff so let me enjoy myself to the fullest".... dangerous mentality. and this is what i will truely have to overcome.

As I lose weight, I am looking forward to.........

-Shopping in a "regular" size store/section
-Wearing what is in style and looking good
-Fitting safely into amusement park rides
-Fitting into one economy airplane seat with no "spill over"
-Not feeling my lower belly touch my thighs when I sit down
-Not thinking that everyone is talking about how fat I am all the time
-letting people not like me for me, not because I am fat
-sitting in plastic lawn furniture without fear
-having meals at resturants at any table, even a booth
-buying a bra at Victoria's Secret with matching panties
-to my boobs sticking out farther than my belly
-having space between my thighs and wearing shorts or skirts without the chaffing

(and btw, having my boobs stick out farther than my belly is one of my personal goals too. i laughed out loud when i read that!)

Yeah, I wasn't ok with that story! Justifying abuse is not in my daily regimen! But at least some of the other stories are more inspirational.
