How close is my goal?
I was moving forward with my goals,satisfied that I had made some positive changes, when I fell down AGAIN, (literally). This time I broke my hip! I cried when I realized I had to withdraw from school this semester, and had a pity party..I don't regret it I was in pain and my plans were crushed. Anyone who says they remained positive through any similar circumstance is lying...I did slowly regroup and look at what I could do. The hospital provided a nice selection of healthy, lo-cal foods-so I chose them. The nurses were very happy that I was drinking water. Physical therapists were excellent exercising coaches. And with extra time I read lots of motivational blogs here on Spark. Today I can once again put on my own shoes and found that I have actually lost 3 lbs. So forward I go again, just from a different starting point!
With balance and mobility problems it is often necessary to modify exercises for safety. I would like to share with others ways to keep moving while disabled

I returned to college last year and typically gained the "freshman 15". I would like to start next semester without them!

hi (: i saw your comment about the coffee on another message board. i love cream and sugar in my coffee too! i started using a really beautiful, small cup so that it felt like i was having something special, and then i add just about a teaspoon of real cream and some 1/2 and 1/2 splenda-sugar blend. it cuts calories and tastes like the real thing. two cups is just over 100 calories and it's worth it! good luck!
