SwampBillies
I have gained and lost the same 20 pounds since my kids were born, but weight was really not too much of a problem for me. Then I hit menopause. Add 20 pounds. Then I quit smoking in an effort to become healthier. Add another 20 pounds. Pretty soon, I was 75 pounds overweight. So I went on a diet to lose the weight a year ago. It wouldn't budge. I felt terrible all the time and so tired and worn out. Finally I was diagnosed hypothyroid. The good news is I now understand, in part, how I have become this heavy. The bad news is, I am still this heavy. I have been working with my doctor to get my thyroid hormones in line and the medication seems to be helping the other symptoms so I am going to tackle the weight again. I am hoping that this time I will not be fighting my body and I will actually lose some weight. Wish me luck!!

Personal Information:
People ask me all the time, where did I get the name SwampBillies. Well, here is the story. My husband and I are both from West Virginia and we have been called hillbillies all of our lives. We never minded. We are hillbillies. Well, when we moved to Florida and bought this property we said to each other, "How can we be HillBillies here in Florida? There are no hills!" So we proclaimed ourselves SwampBillies instead.
Other Information:
The beautiful little Yorkie pictured above is my baby Sassy. She lives here at the SwampBilly Ranch with me and my husband and our grandson and his jack russell. All the cows and goats live here also, just not in the house with the rest of us.
