Back on Track (Finally!)

How do I introduce myself? I'm a single 31 year old living in Queens, working in Manhattan. I hate that my weight holds me back from being "all that I can be." I walk around midtown and see these thin, professional women who look so classy in their suits and I feel frumpy. I have struggled with my weight my whole life. Four years ago I started a journey to losing weight.

I had a sleeve gastrectomy at the end of April 2014. I'm adjusting to my new way of eating. It's been very challenging but I think I'm doing alright.

I've been on and off SparkPeople since November 2008. I just prefer the vibe here to other websites- or even getting more personal here than on my other social media. It's a preference.

My Goals:
Get myself to a weight that I am happy with. I used to have a number in my head but I don't want to focus on that because it seems impossible.

I want to be able to shop at 'normal' clothing stores. I want to fit into the seats at the theater. I want to feel confident and attractive when I meet people. I want to dress nicely for work and not look like a slob because of my fat rolls.

My Program:
I had a sleeve gastrectomy in April 2014. I'm trying to follow the plan that my nutritionist and I have discussed. It's primarily protein heavy- and fitting in vegetables/fruits, etc when there's room! I don't have much of a stomach so I can't eat very much food.

Personal Information:
Live in Astoria
Work in Manhattan.
Hang out in L.E.S. & the theater district.

“Having a positive mental attitude is asking how something can be done rather than saying it can't be done.” ~ Bo Bennett

I truly think a positive attitude is half the battle in weight loss or in any obstacle we face. First, we need to believe that we can be successful; then, we need to believe that we DESERVE to be successful! We need to find our own personal “how” to reach our success and to keep trying until we do find it.

I made this for friends who came to lunch recently and will definitely make it again - easy, healthy, and yummy!
