Shawna's Jumping Back on the Wagon!!!!

Hello All!! I am 39 years old, married with no children. I lost 30 pounds with SparkPeople's support and guidance (ended 10/07) and was rolling along very well.

We sold our home in 2/09 and have been living with my in-laws for the last 8 months. Unfortunately, I don't think I've really gone crazy with my portion sizes - but I KNOW the content of the food has changed dramatically. You see, my mother-in-law is NOT a healthy cooker. She is a school teacher and gets home much earlier ...

She is a school teacher and gets home much earlier than my husband and me. Most of the time, she has dinner on the table when we walk in the door, and they're just waiting to eat until we arrive.

I've strategically been able to fend off the pork she cooks a couple times each week - finding errands to run right after work that simply cannot wait, etc... Believe me: we have plenty of 'errands' that need tending because of the barn we're trying to finish the living quarters in (so we move out!) and preparations for the new home we will build... BUT it gets old trying to duck out of the house. I feel much of the time that I have no control over my own eating habits!... :-(

I've gained 7 pounds of the AWESOME progress I made back now and am at 139. I was so comfortable and proud at 132. I'm looking at my 7 pounds as 'homeless weight'! We should be in our "barn-do-minium" 11/1 so I will use that as an opportunity to start to get back in control of my health!

I'm looking forward to re-gaining my comfort and my pride - It's an awesome thing to be healthy and I plan to GET BACK TO IT!!!

Hey Shawna- thanx for the comment you left on my page a while back actually... I don't get on here too often anymore, but I did wanna say thank you for the support. I've been married 6 months now and boy does it seem longer, but just like yesterday! It's weird. Again- thank you and keep up the great work!

Good luck on your journey to maintaining your success!!

We have some things in common. We are both trying to lose weight. My name is Shona (spelled differently), and I am 36 years old, too.

HI Shawna!
Yes, I'm sooooo excited and hope I will finally meet my goal! (Wouldn't THAT be nice!) My brother lost a ton of weight with this shake program and I decided to try it. So far, so good!!

Sooo sorry to hear about the puppy. I know that can be a real downer, but you sound like you are doing great on your plan.

Your numbers are very similar to mine (starting and goal weight) . . . best of luck!!
