Back in 2007, my highest weight was 280. I realized that the next stop was 300, and that was just wrong. I was the ultimate couch potato, sitting and watching the Olympics, watching triathlons, and watching adventure races, wishing I could be participating. I realized that I was the only one holding myself back, and started eating right, working out, and running. I ran my first 5K run in July of 2007. I had my weight down to 235, and then I let life get the best of me for 5 years. I started and stopped programs, but slowly my moved back up to 268. In 2011 and 2012, I had a very rough patch which served as a series of kicks in the butt to take control of my life again. I started running and working out again, and in July of 2013 I ran my first obstacle course race. It was an incredible feeling to actually participate in something so fun instead of watching it on TV or from the sidelines. It got me going again, and though it's still a struggle sometimes to get off the couch, I have run in 2 more obstacle races, and taken up hiking again, something I truly loved as a younger man. I look forward to doing a Warrior Dash or even a Spartan Race in 2016.

Complete a Warrior Dash or Spartan Race by September of 2016.
