Good is good but better is better.

I often feel like being overweight is holding me back in life. I've been overweight since I was ten years old so it feels like I will always be this way. I need to learn that I am not doing things the best way and I need to change how I live to be sucessful.

I'm really enjoying spark people and learning a lot about nutrition and fitness from the site. Ignorance of health issues is one of the factors as to why I am such an unhealthy weight, so I'm glad that I have begun to educate ...

I tend to drift away and come back to spark people on and off but it doesn't always mean I am not still working towards a better me! I've been away from spark for about a year or so and lost 20 lbs...yeeeah!!

HI again- Well I ran into your page at just the right time then! Right as you were making your return. Great! You mentioned the holidays, and it made me think of thanksgiving. I got made fun of because I was weighing out my turkey! Yes, I delt with it. I saved calories so that I could eat a decent amount of it, and I measured out my meal. Although I was mocked some I made it through the night without even touching the pecan pie! But guess what- about 4 days later I totally binged out- for the first time since the first couple days I had started spark! I guess I forgot how serious my binge eating was/is. That monster is still inside of me. I used to eat myself to sleep like a baby with a bottle. It was my comfort. BUt I needed to get fuller and fuller- and when I had that binge it was like I was the old me again. Except for one thing. I have been doing so good at sticking in spark guide lines that my stomach had shrunk. So when I went on my binge it wasnt long before I was in serious pain- and could hardly walk! Oh it was terrible. I was trying to keep up with my 18 month old and I was in such pain. I learned my lesson! BUt I know that if I dont plan ahead this could happen again no matter how much pain I was in before. I have to always stick to the plan. And even plan when I am not sticking to the original plan!
But yes the holidays can be controlled. Perhaps you will have a better go around than me and make it past the four days after the next one as well!
I am looking forward to seeing your spark success,
God bless-
Mrs. K
