Doing Great, Always a New Challenge

I have been a Spark community member for about three and a half years. In that time I have become confident about my ability to maintain a healthier weight and have incorporated physical activity into my life. I know that I have many tools for maintaining my weight and my health and I feel a lot less crazy about food issues. But I am also a little worried that my weight is trending upward, and I think it would be healthy to get closer to my ultimate goal.

My Goals:

1) 10,000 steps a day.

2) simple strength and flexibility daily.

3) When CSA ends continue to stock kitchen with appealing food choices and eat well

4) Measure nutrients and steps (not weight) daily. not weight.

5) After weight goal met, consider different activity goals.

My Program:
1) 10,000 steps - combined daily activities, walks for errands, and longer walks.

2) If necessary, walk at home to make up the last 1,000 steps.

3) do simple stretching and strength routine at home (or at gym or yoga if things change)

4) stay in 1,200 calorie range, using identified amounts of fiber, fat, and protein. If more intensive activities, add additional calories as needed.

5) If challenge to stick to program, consider how to reduce stress, make other lifestyle changes.

Thank you for the lovely goodie today. I cannot tell you how touched I was to receive it, and for your lovely words/thoughts. I just saw that great line at the top of your page (talk back to negative thoughts) - what a powerful reminder of how to control our thinking, My aunt has been talking to me a lot about that lately - that when I have negative thoughts I need to push them away and say "not helpful".

Anyway, your orchid really brightened my day!

It has been far too long since I've gone to a Solstice Celebration! However, we've got our own Solstice and Christmas traditions, so we still have a lot of fun. And the kids love that they get more "days" to celebrate lol
