1/24/2010: Been a while since I've been here. I was working 60 hour weeks from August of 08 to August of 09. Gained 25 pounds during that time too. I also lost those 25 pounds in the eight weeks following the loss of that wicked JOB. Then I worked for another three months ending the year of 2009.
2010 is a new decade, a new year, a new me. The time is NOW for my life to be improved.
8/23/08: UPDATE ~ WOW I can't believe I've been mia this long. I have totally lost focus on healthy eating and exercise and have regained the work-a-holic tendancies I have within me since returning to work on 7/22/08. Twelve hour workdays five days a week and 8 hours over the weekend are taking a toll on my health. I decided I need to reverse this and get back on track. I purchased an exercise bike and if you would guess it was missing several nuts so I'm going to go to Lowes or Home Depot today to remedy that misfortune. I should be up and biking by Sunday or Monday at the latest. Then I can begin the Trekking Across America Journey! I've been up and down steep narrow stairs at work many times a day so my weight gain over the last four weeks has only been a minimal five pounds due to the constant flow of fast food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, however, my knees sure feel the pressure of the weight gain even if it was only five pounds.
8/23/08: GOALS ~ BY 9/30/08: to ride the bike daily, weights 3x per week, food journal & count calories (minimum 1200 - 1400 per day), be consistant, eat more along the combo line of SouthBeach with inclusion of the 12 Power Foods from the Abs Diet. Okay so here goes 38 days. I'd also like to see a weight loss of 10 pounds minimum up to 15 pounds during this time to give me a healthy feeling in my body as well as remove some pressure from me knees. Finally I'd like to work my MK business and gear toward attending the weekly success meeting and holding 3 solid classes per week and aim for 5 solid per week by mid-October - building a solid customer base.
7/11/08: updated team memberships, goals - since gaining back most of my weight I look more like my starting picture (the bad DMV photo from 12/30/06). This soon shall pass and I'll look better than the 12/2007 picture!
Since 12/31/2006 I lost 50 pounds and gained/lost/gained (basically yo-yo'd) back 40 pounds by not staying focused - in tune to my body, nutrition and physical activity. Time to make some smart changes and get back on task.

1. Daily P & B sessions. Without God Plans Fail, With God His Plans For Me Will Succeed.
2. 57" waist to minimum of 27".
3. Weigh at max 115 lbs at end of weight loss journey.
4. Consistently aim for a 2 - 3 pound loss per week.
5. Keep an accurate food journal.
6. Eliminate eating out to one special occassion per month.
Eat healthy each day beginning with breakfast. Eating only oatmeal, whole wheat pasta or brown rice for starch and only one to two 1/2 cup servings per day. Eat only one or two fruit servings a day. Eat a minimum 4.5 - 5 cups of veggies per day. Eat 6 mini meals a day beginning with breakfast and every three hours. Mainly incorporating the South Beach Diet with a touch of wisdom from the ABS Diet.
Follow my walk across America program aiming for 20 - 30 miles per week to begin and more as my body will allow. Additionally incorporating 2 - 3 days of strength training.
Drink a minimum of one half of my body weight in ounces of water each day.
Aim for eight and get a least six hours sleep each night.
I live in Las Vegas, NV. I am married to a wonderful man and I have three children aged 24(s), 21(d) and 19(s). I have twin grandchildren toddlers (a boy and a girl).
I am also an Independent Mary Kay Beauty Consultant.
My hobbies include reading, writing, card making, and scrapbooking.
As the weight removes itself and I find energy my prayer is that the RA will become less painful and that my other health issues will be basically eliminated.
We attend GV Christian in Henderson, NV (Assembly of God).
I want to learn Spanish this year, to play the guitar and build my Mary Kay business to a team of 50!
