Run in such a way that you may win.

My name is Suzie and it's time for me to "Run in such a way that I may win" That means that it's time for me to give everything I do 100% with no excuses, if I don't win the battle with my weight or don't finish what I've started it's all on me.

I've yo-yo'd all my life. I remember in 8th grade losing some baby fat and suddenly adults asked if I was trying to lose weight and that I looked good, that's when it started. I'd try and try to get compliments from people about how I looked. I went up and down with an all-time low coming at age 20 and close to 145 pounds but I wasn't healthy, I lost weight because I worked 60 hours a week in a job where I never sat down and drank coffee for lunch. I couldn't maintain that sort of loss. Then, I started grad school and the cycle continued. I'd lose weight trying to impress a guy and then things wouldn't work and I'd gain it back plus some. I knew what to do, count calories and exercise but for me food was (and still is) more than fuel. The ups and downs in my weight correlate with periods of stress and depression in my life. Well, I'm done riding that roller coaster. This is my stop!

I joined Spark People to gain control over my eating and my body. This has been an especially stressful year and the scale has shown that. I've put on 47 pounds in the last year and a half and now it's time to say goodbye forever.

So, here is my action plan: Eat the Spark recommended calories, do cardio every day (except Sunday), strength train 3 days a week and track everything!

My Goals:
Here are my weight loss goals and when I'd like to reach them:

Under 200 - Achieved in October 2010
No longer "obese" (185 lbs)
back to engagement weight (170 lbs)
Nolonger "overweight" (150 lbs)
Ultimate weight goal 135 pounds!



My Program:
I'll be following the Spark plan, healthy eating and increased activity to lose about 2 pounds per week!

Hi,

Thank you so much for the comment on my blog! Im starting to get excited about the 5K and have plans to go and walk/run a track near my house to test the waters beforehand (thanks for the tip!)
