Ready to be a Groovy Gecko!
I'm ready to start the BLC 21 challenge and I'm excited to be a Groovy Gecko this time. The support, motivation and inspiration I know I'll receive is just what I need to reach my goal. I'm ready to start the BLC 21 challenge and I'm excited to be a Groovy Gecko this time. The support, motivation and inspiration I know I'll receive is just what I need to reach my goal. Hi, I'm 48 years old, I'm married, mother of 2 active boys. I've lost weight many times before only to gain it back over and over and over again. This time is going to be different. My goal is to be healthy not just to lose weight. I’ve been on SP for almost two years and in that time I’ve lost 80+ pounds. I still have a few pounds to go to get to my goal weight and I had wanted to be there by now. But, you know, I’m ok with not attaining that goal yet because this time I realize that the changes I’ve made are lifetime changes and as long as I continue eating right and exercising I will get to my goal. I have learned so much from Sparkpeople. I’ve learned how important it is to track my food, to exercise and push myself. I’ve learned that the changes I’ve made are for life and I can never go back to the way things were. For the last several months I’ve had a hard time getting back on track. I eat good all day but when I get home from work, it’s a struggle not to eat everything in sight. I’ve continued to exercise and pretty much maintained my weight, maybe losing a little but it’s time to get rid of these last 10 lbs. To help motivate me, I joined the BLC21 Challenge. I’m so excited to be a part of the team, make new friends, and be accountable for my actions. My Goals for the BLC21 Challenge: Exercise: Exercise 30 every weekday morning. Do Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred, Kettlebells, and start running again (up to 2 miles). At lunch weekdays: walk for 30 mins (about 2 miles). On weekends walk, clean, garden, etc. Diet: My main focus this time will be to stop over eating when I get home from work and on weekends. Track all my food, every bite, no matter what. Keep calories between 1200-1500 a day. Support: To support my team, I will post encouraging and helpful comments to team members.

My Goals:
I still have 10 lbs to lose and as they say the last 10 are the hardest. My goal now is to reach my goal weight and maintain it by continuing to track my food and exercise. I also am pushing my self farther in strength training.
My Program:
I am measuring my food and eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. I'm also exercising. Before work I do Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred, Kettlebells or run/walk 2 miles and walk 2 miles at lunch, 5 days of week.
Personal Information:
I grew up in Upstate NY but have lived in the Charlotte, NC area for 19 years. I will be celebrating my 23rd wedding anniversary in June and I have two boys and 3 dogs. We enjoy camping, boating and Geocaching.
