trying to beat getting older/slower

June 2011 Update
OMG I've gained some weight! No excuse but as my body is changing due to age (you know what I mean) I have a belly now, I never had that before! I need to do more and eat less! Being diligent isn't one of my strong suits! As a fellow sparker says, "it's time to LEVEL UP"!

In 2011:
I will focus more on my food intake and continue with my exercise efforts!
I will participate in more events (5K's, 5 Miles, and Sprint Tri's).

Jan 2010 - As I devote more and more effort and time to altering my lifestyle I look for ways to learn healther ways of life. Hence the reason I'm writing my SparksPage mid way through my journey. My highest weight was in the spring of 2006. I was going back to school for my master's, my then relationship was failing, traveling all over for work, trying to raise a teenager by myself.... I was just burnt out. Seeing photos of myself was a wakeup call. Time to refocus - get back in shape. It's not easy, I fall off the wagon for a few months then I realize that I must stay on the path always....

Weight training and Swim - Bike - Run! Hit the gym (or the great outdoors) 3 to 5 days a week.

I just came across your page from 40PlusandFit's blog today. I'm 48 and always looking for other women around my age that are working to get fit. It is definitely a LOT harder to maintain as we age. I have the same beer/wine issues - trying to find a good balance. I look forward to learning more about you. emoticon

Thanks for the comment on my blog. Yes, it's the beer that got me. I haven't had any for 11 days, so I'm sure that's helped considerably getting the weight off. Just letting the stress get to me on a daily basis. We can fight the good fight together. :-)

Thanks for the nice comment on my blog! I had been Sparking for over a year before I finally hunkered down and started Tracking my food. Then the pounds finally started falling off! Best of luck in your journey!
