make sourdough starter by boiling a potato in two cups of water til it is soft. throw out the potato and keep 2 cups of the water, let cool to lukewarm. Add 2 cups of flour and 1tsp of sugar. Stir well, put in a sterilized glass jar and cover with a clean dish towel. Let set in a warm (70 degree) area, free of drafts, for 3 to 5 days, stiring once a day. Find lots of recipes online and make great pancakes and breads........hhhmmmmmmm, follow directions for feeding and caring for your starter. emoticon
