6-6-15 UPDATE

I thought maybe I should update after almost 3 years at maintenance. It's been a pretty good 3 years. My weight has only fluctuated 7 or so pounds up or down (mostly up). I'm happy with my weight now. I'm in a size 2 or 4 pants and a small/med shirt.

I'm now focusing more on strength training. I still love my runs (at least when they're done), seriously I do still love it but I think it's always a day to day thing on how I feel mid-run. 100% of the time I feel great when it's done.

I've been working on stepping out of my comfort zone when it comes to strength training. I do a lot more circuit workouts (which I ADORE) and have been trying new exercises that I thought I wouldn't like/couldn't do. I quickly found out that I CAN.

As of 6-17-2012 I hit my original goal of 140. I surpassed that quickly there after and got to my ultimate goal of 135. Five pounds under my driver's license weight!

I'm struggling right now to find the right balance of calories. I'm actually working out more now than I did when I was trying to lose so the scale is edging downward and I don't think I should lose more.

I have a lot of work to do on toning up. Currently I'm using Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred DVD. Because I'm running, however, I'm not doing the cardio portions. Just the kickass exercises. I'm seeing a difference but wish I had started toning much sooner.

I sort of did things backwards. I actually lost most of my weight with very moderate exercise and 1200 calories a day, then when I was almost at my goal, I kicked it up and started running and doing more toning. Weird I know, but it worked for me.

I was just called an athlete the other day by my partner. I've never been called that before. And I actually feel like I AM an athlete.

In my goals I say I want to do a 5k. I can run one, but I haven't run a race yet. I'm not ready. Or I'm too chicken. I'd also like to do a 10k at some point, but we'll see about that once I get my nerve up to do the 5k!

Still working on a good balance of calories. Right now I'm at 1700 a day but am still in an adjustment mode.

I'm trying to eat less processed foods.

I eat very limited fast food. I try to make the most healthy choice possible when I do eat out.

I love my fruits and veggies.

I drink very limited diet soda and choose water instead.

My name is really Paula (Sue is my middle name), but I've never really had a knickname.


Other Information:
I live in NE Ohio with my partner of 6 1/2 wonderful years. Between us we have 3 wonderful young adult children (1 still at home), 2 cats, and 2 dogs.

We love camping, kayaking, hiking, and relaxing on the beach with a good book.
