"I'm not losing weight. I'm getting rid of it. I have no intention of finding it again."

Commit and carry through... still my personal mantra, still difficult for me to actually put into practice. I've slipped into bad habits and unhealthy food choices since a long recovery from a foot surgery I had Nov. 30, 2012. I let that affect me in such a negative way and have used that as an excuse for WAY too long! Truth be told, it was a set back to working out and cooking healthy meals consistently, but really, it messed with my mindset more than anything. I'm slowly working through all that now and am 100% ready to commit ~ with your help and my hard work, I will also 'carry through'!

"Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement." Golda Meier

"Tomorrow is promised to no one, so use your today wisely."

6-30-12; recommitting on 7-19-12 I CAN DO THIS!
Done Being the Fat Girl! Just joined that team and am recommitting to working on getting my excess weight off! I've learned over the last 6 months that I can maintain my weight, but before that is the lifestyle I choose to live, I must get to a healthy weight first! Here I go!!!

Here's a nice thought to start off the New Year:
"We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day." Edith Lovejoy Pierce

10-10-11
Starting year 2 with Spark today. I had a successful first year; losing 53 pounds and actually enjoying exercise! I'm continually learning about myself. I am still learning to make healthy food choices, but I realize acceptance of my shortcomings has played a huge part in my success! I've learned not to be so hard on myself when I have a set-back, just start again, again, and again if I need to, and that's okay. I have learned to believe in myself and my ability to live a healthy lifestyle. And, IT FEELS GOOD! My new mantra for the next year is: POWERING FORWARD! Here I go!

10-10-10
"We all have a past, the story of which is already written. However, our future is full of blank pages waiting to record our life’s journey. We need to accept what was and look forward to new and exciting chapters being written with God as our co-author.” quote from The Whisper of God

It's time to take my obesity seriously! I'm ready to fill those blank pages with successes!

Hey! I was out in your neck of the woods today..sorta. I signed up for Fleet Feet's Ton of Fun and was at the St. Charles store. To answer your question, I don't use the Spark Activity Tracker any more. My Fitbit died right around the time the Spark Activity Tracker came out. I tried it and I like it, I think it works fine. I just really missed the altimeter that is in Fitbit that counts stairs. So I switched back to Fitbit and got a Force which has the watch function.

Are you thinking about buying a Spark Activity Tracker? If we can figure out how to do it, I can give you mine. We'd just need to figure out if we can transfer the Tracker from me to you!!
