Commit and carry through... still my personal mantra, still difficult for me to actually put into practice. I've slipped into bad habits and unhealthy food choices since a long recovery from a foot surgery I had Nov. 30, 2012. I let that affect me in such a negative way and have used that as an excuse for WAY too long! Truth be told, it was a set back to working out and cooking healthy meals consistently, but really, it messed with my mindset more than anything. I'm slowly working through all that now and am 100% ready to commit ~ with your help and my hard work, I will also 'carry through'!

Done Being the Fat Girl! Just joined that team and am recommitting to working on getting my excess weight off! I've learned over the last 6 months that I can maintain my weight, but before that is the lifestyle I choose to live, I must get to a healthy weight first! Here I go!!!

Starting year 2 with Spark today. I had a successful first year; losing 53 pounds and actually enjoying exercise! I'm continually learning about myself. I am still learning to make healthy food choices, but I realize acceptance of my shortcomings has played a huge part in my success! I've learned not to be so hard on myself when I have a set-back, just start again, again, and again if I need to, and that's okay. I have learned to believe in myself and my ability to live a healthy lifestyle. And, IT FEELS GOOD! My new mantra for the next year is: POWERING FORWARD! Here I go!

Thank you for the goodie. A pedicure would be really nice. Usually I pay my youngest daughter to do it. She is pretty good, but it is hard to find time to sit long enough for her to finish and then not need to put on shoes too soon. Maybe later....My husband is out of town, which puts a different flavor on the day. I would love to try water aerobics sometime. They sound fun. I was out in the field again. Figured out where the calf was getting out and fixed it. Burns calories and saves the garden (I hope!)

Thanks for reminding me about the need for ample fruits and veggies.

I hope I didn't botch my cabbage dinner tonight! I found a few different recipes and I tossed in a tablespoon of cumin and paprika, not realizing the last time I cooked with paprika, we hated it! Ah well, we shall see! I browned the turkey, onion, and garlic last night and popped it in the crockpot with the chopped up cabbage, 2 cans of diced tomatoes and a large can of tomato sauce, and about a cup of lentils. I took it out of the fridge and set it on low before I headed to work today. I'm crossing my fingers that it will be edible!!

Sounds like you did well on the 4th. I was so crazy busy I didn't try to plan like I should have. I found myself early baking rolls I had made for the day and painting the kitchen ceiling and walls. And it went on from there. The family was (mostly) all here and it was a wonderful time. I was really tired by the end of the day. Even though I didn't do any structured workout, I was on my feet all day running. Glad to get back to normal today. We ran out of coffee so I am drinking a late cup that I walked down to my husband's business to get and checking Spark. Then I am off to our orchard field to cut weeds and brush and haul it out to make a better pasture. That should be a workout for the day:-) I hope you are on plan today. I was happy and inspired to read about your good choices.
