I'm 54 and have spent half my life heavy. I was heavy as a child where I was taught to "finish everything on your plate because of the starving chindren in ..... One night I told my mother to send it to the starving children and she slapped me. I learned to eat away every emotion that was "wrong" and to celebrate with food when I did well. As a teenager, I began walking and joined weight watchers. I lost weight and looked great. That was the start of the yo yo dieting. Lose weight only to gain more back. I've dieted myself up to 236, the fattest in my family. I am so ashamed to be seen by people and I'm such a disappointment to myself.

My Goals:
I need to become healthier before it's too late. In the process I need to lose 80 lbs.

My Program:
I'm only putting one toe in at a time. I try to follow the nutrition quidelines, and my next goal is to start incorporating activity. This is all while working 12 hour shifts.

Personal Information:
I was born in Germany into an Air Force family. I moved to the US when I was 4 and started judging what grade I was in by how many schools I had gone to. This isn't conducive to long lasting friends..

Other Information:
I'm a nurse practitioner that loves to read Dean R Koontz and Patricia Cornwell. I'm trying to start cooking for the first time in a long while.
I became gluten free the end of 2013 and lost weight, but now I seem to be stuck. I started on the sparkcoach in the hope I can get re-motivated
