Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas then the New Year,
they all come barreling down on my willpower
like the ocean crashing against the shore.
Bubbles sparkle and fill my senses, beautiful but deadly they block the light.
The more I fight it the more panicked I become.
So I succumbed, to my own nature.
Which meant enjoying all of the baking and eating that the holiday’s represent to me.
Needless to say I have gained some weight.
Such is life, the path is never straight, nor is it easy.
But I am not upset with myself
since I know it is not going to stop me from getting where I want to go.
This little side trip was simply a joyful, happy time that I do not regret.
My journey continues on ....

To become healthy

Workout 5 days a week

Eliminate sugar from my diet.

Stop snacking on bad foods between meals.



Personal Information:
Time on my hands gives me time for lots of hobbies.

Here's a list of the many things I like to do.

Singing & playing the guitar, knitting, sudoku puzzles, Reading murder mysteries or anything else for that matter.

I'm 47, overweight (duh).

10 short years ago I was in enviable shape,
but the tragedies of life
conspired to pull the rug out from under me.
(Everyone has their cross to bear.)
But I decided to change how I reacted.

The only thing in this world that we can control is
What We Do.
How we treat our bodies,
what to eat or whether to workout,
these things are totally in our control.

So I'm taking control.
