Just turned 50. Had a great birthday. My husband treated me like a queen and took me to Hawaii! We swam, snorkeled, surfer (yes surfed!!) snorkled some more, hiked across lava, over black sand beaches, used our four wheel drive rental offroad, snorkeled more, snorkeled at night to see giant manta rays, rode in a submarine and generally had a wonderful time.

But the birthday is over and now my hubby is approaching his 50th birthday. He's a tiny bit younger than me.

He asked for his birthday help in achieving his fitness goals. He wants that last summer of young, so to speak. He may turn 50, but he's hoping to feel young again.

How can I refuse? I'm not going to refuse.

So we have a fresh start. I'm smiling at the thought.

Eliminate refined (junk) 6 days a week
Enrich meals with veggies
1200-1500 calories daily

2-3 weight workouts

Running 3-4 weekly incorporating hill sprints, tempo runs and easy long runs. Building long-runs.

Journal food and exercise.

Plan food and exercise the day before!

hey!!!! dont know if you remember me or not i think it's been at least a couple years since we met here. when i return, it seems like i always see you around. i must admit i didn't read all your info above but read quite a bit!! interesting, sounds like a lots been happening and i'm proud of all you've done!! that is fabulous!!!

i'm back for awhile...............day 4 of eating right & exercising. i wanta lose about 14lbs in 7 weeks, and i want to get back to some old "good" habits!! lets keep in touch!!!

Thanks for the positve comment!! and don't sell yourself short, 3 miles is awesome, especially in cold weather! I hate running in cold weather!!

I just read all of your 2010 goals. You are going to do great. I got remotivated in November after completely falling off and gaining mad weight. Don't stress the 8-9 pounds, those will come off fast!
