This man can cook!
Hi! I'm never good at writing about myself, but here goes! I'm a graduate student who also works full time. It's hard to find time for anything else. Two years ago, I began dating my boyfriend. I had lost 30 pounds prior to us dating, and soon discovered that he cooks really well. We also share a love for eating out. So, I have gained it back and more.
Joint problems and high blood pressure run in my family. So, I want to stop it before it happens to me. I woundn't mind fitting into my old "skinny" clothes again either. I've always had a propensity to gain weight, so I need to know that I can be healthy as a lifestyle and not a diet.
That's me in a nutshell!
1. Maintain a healthy weight so I don't end up with health problems.
2. Fit into the clothes I used to be able to fit into.
3. Be able to put on a swimsuit without feeling like I need to cover myself up.
4. Reduce stress and learn relaxation techniques.
5. Learn to eat smaller portions of the things I like to eat.
And so on...
I don't have a lot of time so I mainly will be eating smaller portions of the food I like to eat and tracking the calories so I can become familiar with how much I eat.
I also plan to learn and do Yoga along with some cardio that I will mix up so I don't get bored. I would love to work out with someone else, but I can't find anyone, so I will use videos and exercise at home!
I was born and raised in Texas, and moved out to Colorado for graduate school. I've been here for almost 4 years now, and I still have a ways to go on the school front.
I'm a big fan of television and movies, which is probably my downfall. :) I love Heroes, LOST, Grey's Anatomy, and British television. I love to read and watch British mysteries.
Hey well it's cool to find someone that is in the same boat as i am. I have enjoyed talking with you. Maybe we can lose this weight together. It looks like we are close to the same weight. I used to take working out too. But I bought a taebo video and I love it. I at frist could only do like the first 5 mintues now i'm up 2 15. I still have to wait for everyone to get out of my house to be able to work out i hope that it will be better. And when everytime i lose 5 pounds i'm going to reward myself. With something besides food. so i'm hoping that i do a good job at changing our lives. My whole family is going to have to do this with me. Well thanks for talk to me. IT means the world to me.

Hello, SUPERSILLYGIRL. Welcome to the LOVE TO COOK team. You are smart to take care of yourself now before things like high blood pressure start. That is one reason I finally had enough...the Dr. was going to put me on blood-pressure meds and I just don't like taking pills. Now I am back down to normal...so you can do it!!!

I do hope you manage to find time to take care of yourself too esp with joint and other problems running in the family! I'm sure you can do it!! Just a bit of extra work, such as preparing foods on sunday and freezing, or preparing a packed lunch for work will be really helpful for you!! Best of luck!

Hey there! Welcome to Colorado Women! It looks like you have your goals set out pretty clearly, and I am confident that you will accomplish them all by using the Sparkpeople tools! I am living proof that SP works, and will continue to work after you meet your goal, even with a significant other who is an amazing cook (my husband can cook *anything* and make it seem gourmet). You should definitely check out the main thread, it is an amazing group of women who are all becoming very successful in the weight goals, and other life goals, too!
Oh, and I love, love, love TV, too! My favorite shows are Heroes, Grey's Anatomy, The Office, and CSI: Miami.
