Wow, sure has been a long time since I logged on, back in 2012. How time flies, how the pounds have crept back on. Spark People is the only successful way I have ever drop my weight, by tracking food and nutrients.
I am back on a journey to get healthy, stay happy, live positive!
Goal is to reach 160 where I was at 35.
Be happy, positive, productive.
I am tracking daily in the SP food journal, staying WITHIN MY DAILY FORMULA;
Over 90 g Protein
Under 100 g carbs
Under 40 g fat
Under 2400 g salt
25+ gr fiber
8-8oz glasses of H2O
Work out 3 days a wk.

Getting more active by walking, biking, and personal interests of gardening, delving into photagraphy and going to auctions.
We are from Michigan, and have been married for 25 years. Our son is 30, (husband''s son from previous marraige) he came to live with us when he was 4 years old, ...where have all the years gone? I just retired from GM after 30 years. The husband will work for a few more years.
We are into old cars, petromobilia, going to estate auctions, and going to our 2nd home in Florida!

I think Harper's no carbs after lunch would be starchy and sugary carbs. Fruit, grains, potatoes, corn, winter squash, etc. would be on the list. Broccoli, greens, green beans, etc. would be acceptable carbs. Lean and green after lunch he says. I'm finding his book very interesting and informational.

Thanks for your comment about the butternut squash. Eat them I will. We got 20 of them from our garden this year, some of them are huge! But I'm leaning towards Bob Harper's Skinny Rule of no carbs after lunch, so wasn't sure if they would be considered a carb. I now have the book in hand and see that he does consider winter squash a carb.

Hi Tina - I had to put the tiara on my page manually.....I once edited my SP and clicked on "manage my goodies" and now they don't automatically go on my page when I get a new one. I have no idea why or how to change, so I just manually do it when I think of it.
