My Weight loss journey
My name is Bethany and I have about 100 lbs to lose. My diabetes has gotten out of control and I don't currently have medical insurance. So the best thing for me right now would be to eat right, exercise and lose weight. That has always been a struggle for me, but I am hoping that now that I am a homemaker again, I will have the time to dedicate myself to getting and staying healthy. I know my weight has a direct affect on my blood sugar, and the same is true for the reverse... ...
My name is Bethany and I have about 100 lbs to lose. My diabetes has gotten out of control and I don't currently have medical insurance. So the best thing for me right now would be to eat right, exercise and lose weight. That has always been a struggle for me, but I am hoping that now that I am a homemaker again, I will have the time to dedicate myself to getting and staying healthy. I know my weight has a direct affect on my blood sugar, and the same is true for the reverse... my sugars directly affect my weight... and my weight is back up again. I have been on a roller cosater of weight loss ups and downs for a long time... but I really need to stick to it this time for my health. I have a few small daily goals that I am going to strive to meet, they are: 1. write in a journal/blog daily to record my food/exercise and overall well being. 2. exercise 30 minutes each day 3. drink at least 8 glasses of water each day 4. take my vitamins and medication daily. I have started this journey time and time again and never stuck to it. This has to be the time I finally don't give in, don't give up and just keep pushing through until these little changes add up to one big lifestyle change for good. Wish me luck!

My Goals:
1. write in a journal/blog daily to record my food/ exercise and overall well being. 2. exercise 30 minutes each day 3. drink at least 8 glasses of water each day 4. take my vitamins and medication daily 5. lose 1 -2 lbs a week 6. Encourage at least 1 other Sparkpeople user daily
My Program:
I am using the south beach diet and the biggest loser as my guides to eating healthier. For exercise I have workout videos, the biggest loser workout game for the wii, and plan to do more walking.
Personal Information:
I live in Bellingham, WA with my husband of 15 1/2 years. We have 3 children, the youngest of which is 4 1/2 and the oldest being 15 yrs. I sell AVON as a hobby and work full time as a property manager. My 15 yr old daughter has epilepsy and my son is a little ADHD, which makes life a little more interesting. Recently my mom moved in with us too who is also diabetic and is now battling breast cancer. My life is anything but boring... but we work together and make it work.
Other Information:
I am a sucker for chocolate, historical romance, and have recently discovered that I really enjoy gardening (even if it is just in pots on my patio).
