My name is Jess, I'm 34, I have 2 children, a full time job, plus going back to school. I joined Spark 4 years ago & I'm back to continue on my journey of weight loss that has always been an issue for me. Stress has been a huge contributing factor to my weight gain; however I have changed A LOT in my life recently & one of my goals on my list to change is ME! I will lose the weight to become a Happier Me & boost the confidence in myself knowing that I have changed & accomplished All of my goals to a more positive life all around!

My Goals:
I want to become a healthier me, I'm very unhappy with myself right now so I'm trying to maintain a positive attitude & become a better me for myself, my kids, & my family!

My Program:
I'm trying to eat healthier each day. Each new day is a challenge & I'm trying to give it my all. I'm trying to drink 8 glasses of water a day which is hard, but I'm doing it! My exercise routine is doing walking/running on my treadmill for 35-45 minutes 3 to 5 days a week.

Personal Information:
My name is Jessica, I'm from PA. I'm 34 have 2 children a 12 year old daughter named Jasmine & a 7 year old son named Gavin. Whom consume a lot of my free time. Oh & don't let me forget that I am a huge animal lover!

Other Information:
I enjoy reading when I have time, writing poetry when i have time, shopping & spending time with my family & friends. I work alot plus I'm going back to school for another degree which I'm almost finished with so I'm trying to juggle everything in my life & still come out on top!

    Oh good! You've made lots of little changes. Sounds like you're doing great. I'm doing pretty well with eating - I'm using a hunger scale - it's a card I keep in my purse and I use it to determine whether I'm really hungry or not. It's working pretty well for me. I'm also drinking more water, which is great. My next step is to pump up the exercise - I'm not doing much right now. I think I'm going to start with five days a week, but only expect myself to exercise for 20 minutes each time. I think consistency and getting into the habit is more important than doing really great workouts right now. So that's where I'm at! Keep up the great work - I know how it is to be tremendously busy and try to work at this goal at the same time. You can do it!!!

    Keep it up, Jess. I know the feeling of just not caring whenever I'm going through a tough time. But it's hard - it feels like just when I'm getting "on track" with my health, something comes up in my personal life that feels like a crisis and I stop caring about my own health, wellbeing, etc. I think what you and I need to learn is how to continue to care about ourselves and continue making that effort, even when other things feel so urgent and important. Much easier said than done, but life is a series of events and it will always be unpredictable, so we need to learn how to maintain ourselves amidst all the chaos, I think...

    Anyway, have a GREAT week! What are you working on right now? I am working on writing down my food intake and doing three days of cardio this week. I need to get back into this slowly, but I want to do enough to feel better about myself by this time next week.

    Yes! We can do this and there's nothing better than a fresh start. In fact, I'm going to go write a blog about my 2010 goals right now. I ned to have some goals and some rewards to keep me going. Right now I'm lowering my expectations to make my goals attainable - I'm starting with cardio 5 days a week for at least 20 minutes each session. I figure that consistency is a good place to start and I can ramp up the minutes later. What are your plans for your fresh start? Good luck! We can do this for sure!!!!!
