The Gasparilla Classic Long Distance 15K and ever since got the Running Bug. I have met so many runners and at that time, mother's with children and jogging strollers. I ran my first Marathon, Gulf Beaches and did the best time ever. I was 9 minutes from qualifying for the Boston Marathon. I have a one time goal to run that, hopefully 2012. 2011 has been an unusual year for me, very challanging as I'm sure with everyone.
I am so Happy that my friend told me about SparkPeople. All of the tools have really motivated me and kept me on track.

SUNSHINEYOURWAY is feeling sad. Found out my longtime neighbor/ landlord past away 4/7. He was like a father to me. I think he was 90 years old.

My Goals:
2014 Goal:
*Running Long Distance Marathon Training after Two Year Break.
*I would like to loose the weight gained after having surgery almost 2 years ago. Continue loosing weight, lost 30 pounds gained back 5 in 2013. 2014 loose 10- 15 lbs.
*Controlling my sweet tooth-emotional eating.


My Program:
Small Steps.....
*Using the Food Tracker and Recipe Calculator to see where I need to improve for healthy meal planning.
*Substituting foods for healthy choices, eliminate wheat and dairy since I have a food allergy. Dairy will be tough but gradually wean off.
*Started a personal weight lose challenge after Thanksgiving to loose 10 pounds prior to Christmas.
*10 Minute Spark Challenges, consisting of floor work, squats and Lunges...
*2014 increase fitness minutes to 2500 per month.

Personal Information:
I have been married for 30 years January 29th and have one son who will be turning 24.
Caring for an Elder Parent has taken us away from the Sunshine State.
Adjusting to Hills and Colder temps and a different Life Style.
I sure miss Tampa Bay and the Water, but most of all my Sunshine Running Buds.

*First Race was the 15K Gasparilla Classic Long Distance in Tampa Bay.
*Three Gulf Beaches Full Marathons Clearwater, FL.
*Many Gulf Beaches Half Marathons

So happy to hear you're having beautiful weather! Ours LOOKED nice today, but it was barely up to 32 and a "feel like" temp of 25! Snow tonight and cold all week and snow all weekend!! I'm so sick of snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Sharon!

I'm trying to spend more time on SparkPeople and a little less time on Fecebook! I really need to get back to work on my diet and exercise. I've really let it slide over the winter.
I hope things are going well with your mother? Mine has really taken a downhill slide over the last few months. Hopefully when the weather warms up this spring, it will perk her up a little.
You're doing great on your workouts and your weight! Makes me wish I was able to run, but the last time I tried to, I had to go through physical therapy and came close to having to have surgery. So, it's not worth it! Take care! It's good to be back on Spark!
