Hi, I just saw your comment on GOODLIL991's blog about ketoacidosis and I wanted to reassure you that it is largely a concern for Type 1 diabetics and end-stage Type 2's. The article you linked to was very incomplete, though it also mentioned:

"Some people without diabetes can get ketoacidosis, too. It's caused by alcoholism, starvation, or an overactive thyroid. A healthy low-carb diet shouldn't cause a problem."

Here's a good layman's explanation of the difference between Nutritional Ketosis and Diabetic Ketoacidosis:

Thank you for the comment on my blog.I am prediabetic. Dr wanted me on low carb diet. Not sure how low though. Just plugging away & doing what works. Right now staying below 20 for a few weeks. Any advice would be great! Have a great day!

Thank you for the goodie and the kind words. It's been a challenge. Thanks also for holding down the team while I couldn't be there!

Hello Sunshine! Thanks for your comment on my blog about ditching the scale. It looks like you've done very well in losing weight and regaining health. I started on that path (using the scale and also tracking food). But I do think that obsessive weighing a crutch for me. I'll keep posting. emoticon
