In 2012, I decided to get healthy. For many reasons, I did not reach my goal of losing 100 pounds plus. I have lost and kept off 25 of these pounds. Now it is time to get serious and to look to the future. The future being to become healthier. Fortunately, I have no medical issues in spite of being obese (no diabetes, no high cholesterol etc.). The medical issues I do have existed before I became obese. Since turning 60 (two years ago) I find it is even more difficult to lose the excess weight, however I will do this as I do not want to develop more medical issues. In order to do this, I will rely on my Heavenly Father to give me the strength to stay focused and on track while I do the actual work. I believe that He and only He can get me through this journey. I believe this as each time I try to go it or do it on my own I end up discouraged and overwhelmed. When I ask Him for strength I continue to forge ahead. So having said this, No More Looking Back Only Looking Forward, Stay tuned for my progress.

My Goals:
My pledge from July 20 to Dec. 31, 2017

1) To lose a minimum of one pound per week or 25 pounds by Dec. 31, 2017

2) To walk a minimum of 45 - 60 minutes twice a week, to swim once a week, and to get to the gym twice a week.

3) To reward myself when I achieve a goal.


My Program:
To establish monthly goals that are attainable.

July:

1) To lose 1 pound by July 31st
2) To drink 6 to 8 glasses of water per day.

August:

1) To lose four pounds this month
2) To drink six to eight glasses of water per day.
3) To exercise 30 to 45 minutes on a daily basis.

September:

1) To lose four pounds this month
2) To drink six to eight glasses of water per day.
3) To exercise 30 to 45 minutes on a daily basis.

October:

1) To lose four pounds this month
2) To drink six to eight glasses of water per day.
3) To exercise 30 to 45 minutes on a daily basis.

November:

1) To lose four pounds this month
2) To drink six to eight glasses of water per day.
3) To exercise 30 to 45 minutes on a daily basis.

December:

1) To lose four pounds this month
2) To drink six to eight glasses of water per day.
3) To exercise 30 to 45 minutes on a daily basis.



Personal Information:

* originally from a little town in Northern Ontario (an 8 hour drive north of Toronto).

* a retired school teacher

* escaped the long, cold winters of Northern Ontario when I moved to Southern Ontario in 2002 .

* enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

    I'm the oldest, Joanne is 3 years younger than me, then my brother Jim, and the youngest, Ginger. There's a picture of the four of us on my page. A couple of years ago my brother took my sister and I out to California to see her - it was the first time we were all together since my mom died in 1961. We have all seen each other many times, but since we all live so far apart, we just had never been able to get the four of us together all at the same time!

    Hi! I came to your page to respond to your question on the chat thread. You asked about the reference to math books. Some years ago, my friend and I (both math teachers here in our school) wrote a series of math books for junior high and high school. They are used in lots of schools around the country. This year we changed editors in order to update the books with newer technology - the books will be a lot more attractive, even though the content is pretty much the same. Anyway, it's the proofreading that is taking so much time - each book requires at least 4 revisions to correct errors - math has so many numbers, letters and symbols!! LOL!!

    I've been browsing your page... and I so identify with you!! I lost almost 30 pounds, but I've gained back 20 of them!! Now I', beginning again... I so want to reach my goal and maintain! emoticon
