Hi Fount, glad you too have found a diet. It is funny, I expected lots of doubters and negative comments but I haven't had any. When I say fat in my diet I am allowed natural fats like avocado or nuts but is strict quantities. He forbids the so called 'low fat' foods as they are full of sugars to keep them tasty so if I want to have a yogurt I don't buy 'diet' versions but I really can only have full fat plain yogurt and the fruit ones are full of sugar as well. I guess the devil in this diet is sugar and carbs that quickly turn to sugar, like bread, pasta and rice. I see you are on a rice diet but I will not comment on that if it is working for you. I saw a reduction in my blood glucose on about day 2 of the diet and it has remained low and I am having to decrease my insulin. Another version of this diet is the 600 calorie but that is very strict and, as your friend, should be under strict medical supervision.
Keep up the good work, and don't worry what other people say, if it works it works.
I too have been wanting to do an 800 calorie diabetes reversal diet, but not the same one as you're doing. I just didn't want to tell anyone here on Sparkpeople because of the calories. I just don't want to hear the advice from people that such a diet is dangerous. Another lady though is doing a 600 calorie diet her Dr put her on, but still, doing such a diet ALWAYS brings negative comments.
