Slow and easy...

The road of weight loss, for me, is the road less traveled. I started to gain weight for the first time in college, when I gained almost the entire freshman 15. Sometimes I'd lose it, but then I'd gain it back, plus a few pounds. This happened over and over, with me gaining a few extra pounds each time. Although I joined SparkPeople in 4/2008, I didn't do anything with it. I just recently became motivated to change how much and what I eat. I'm ready to lose weight and improve my health, ...
I'm ready to lose weight and improve my health, too! My health is the biggest motivator for me, although looking good matters a lot, too. Every time I look in the mirror I think of how much better I'd look if I was at a more healthy weight.

I am looking at this as a lifestyle change, rather than "Oh I have to lose this weight, NOW!"This time I am going to try to a kinder approach towards myself by trying not to beat myself up when I slip and tweaking my diet and exercise as I go along. Eventually, I want to understand what it takes in order to have a healthy body composition and weight for me.

4. To not only heal my body, but reverse any physical damage that may have occurred by my not properly managing insulin related issues.

My Program:
1. Walk for at least 30 minutes 4 times per week to start.

2. Adjust calories and exercise as I go, based on the results I get.
