I live in Amelia, OH and I work full time, I have a 24 year old daughter and an 18 month old grandson, and my husband is retired. My daughter lives on her own so it is me and my husband at home and we have three dogs living at home with us, as we have a weak spot for the homeless dogs.

I had open heart surgery in 1998 and lost my oldest daughter in 1999. Seemed like after that the weight just piled on. I got up to 187 at one point. Not sure what my highest weight was as I quit ...

I had open heart surgery in 1998 and lost my oldest daughter in 1999. Seemed like after that the weight just piled on. I got up to 187 at one point. Not sure what my highest weight was as I quit stepping on the scale after that, but I don't believe I hit quite 200.

Later (2003) I saw a picture my stepdaughter took of me at the ballpark (on left). It was a real shocker. That was my inspiration to lose weight. And boy I did too. I got down to 122 in early 2005. I really was way too thin and was staying ill as well. My ideal weight would be 130-135, I guess.

Well, I started eating healthier and got up to 130-135 where I stayed for a couple of years. Then I made a decision in 2006 in spite of knowing I would probably gain weight to quit smoking (again). That is one of the best decisions of my life too! I gave myself 10 pounds to gain, figured if I was pushing that I needed to do something about it. Well, I set by and let 10 turn into 20 and so on!

I was up to 174 on 01/01/11 and have decided to put my foot down and get in gear. I am determined to reach my goal by this October which is certainly enough time to do it. So I will see where my journey takes me!

My Goals:
Feel good about myself!

Accept what I can not change!

135 seems reasonable!

Find a new excercise activity.

My Program:
Well right now I am just trying to remain within my daily range and I walk on the treadmill. Whenever it warms up a bit I like to ride a bicycle too. I want to join a gym, but I am pretty active in good weather so I think I will save that for the end of summer when I am much more likely to devote time to attending.

Personal Information:
I am 43 years old, I live in Amelia, OH (just east of Cincinnati), and I work in an office at a desk all day.

Other Information:
I love to ride motorcycles with my husband and our friends.

My bike is called "Froggy", it was painted in memory of my daughter, Amanda. She just loved frogs, collected them in all forms from stickers to nick nacks and stuffed animals, was always drawing them too, so I have her frog on my bike, in her colors "Mtn. Dew" green. This way she can ride with me!

My husband and I both ride with the Southern Cruisers Riding Club. SCRC is an international family oriented club with over 31K members, and supports St. Jude as the National charity of choice. They are a no fees, no dues, all members welcome club, with chapters across the nation.

Hi, I haven't seen you post for awhile. I hope all is well with you.

Did I tell you that I walked two 5Ks this summer? One in mat and the other a few weeks ago. Under 50 minutes this time, which was a 5 minute drop.

Just wanted to say Hi
Sam

You have done an AMAZING job on your journey! Keep it up, girl!

About the crocheting...squares are great. Enough of them and you'll have an awesome afghan.

If you want to get some ideas about knitting and crocheting projects, look into joining www.ravelry.com. It's a wonderful knitting/crocheting community. :)

Best of luck!
