Healthy through the Spring and Summer!

Hi Everyone, I have a long history of body image problems, self criticism, and impossible standards. I'm trying hard to just be me and have that be good enough.

I reached some of my exercise and weight-loss goals with Spark in 2013-14, but then went backward when I started stress-eating and stopped exercising.

I want to lose weight, but mood, energy, and health are my focus. I want to stay away from being hard on myself.

It's nice to read from someone who is taking a journey not specifically for weight loss but to be a better version of themselves. I know you'll find the person you want to be.

Hi, Charlotte! Thanks for adding me as a Spark friend. I really liked your statement about good nutrition being first to feel well emotionally, and then everything else will line up. I have been a member off and on but not active, actually very dormant lately. I live in Washington State and have been very depressed lately, think it is SAD. I am 56 years old, married 19 years in Februsry, and have 4 boys, ages 16, 17, 25, and 27. My husband just retired. Have lots of changes going on as well as menopsuse (again!). I thought I was over it in my late 40s. I hope to make some positive changes thus year, but I want to make these changes in a slow, gradual way. Warmly, Karen
