Well, it's 2012! FINALLY! I am so ready for the new year and all it promises to bring. For once and for all, I am going to take control of my health. This isn't a new year's resolution. That's a bunch of crap. This is just me promising me to take better care of myself this year than I did last year. Does that mean I will be a size 6 at the end of the year? Ummm...No. However, will I have healthy habits? Yep! That I KNOW I can do. And I will use this page to document this year's journey, to vent, to process my thoughts, "keep my mind right", and maybe connect with a few new SPARK friends. :-)
My goals are simple. I want to be healthy, lose at least 50 pounds, and get back into all the cute clothes I miss so much! I pretty much just want to take good care of myself, show myself some love, and finally be comfortable in my own skin. My ultimate goal is to be a size 8 to 10. I think I'm at my best at this size.
I guess I'll do the basics for now...exercise at least 3 days a week, eat a healthy breakfast, get small meals throughout the day, cook healthy meals, monitor my portion size, try to track my food intake, and get more sleep! I also try to avoid a lot of processed foods and keep a watch on carb intake. I'm going to use my Bodybugg to help me. :)
I'm a soon to be 40 Leo. Education is my niche. I've been everything from a substitute teacher to a principal. I've even worked in central services (in charge of state testing and research). Now I work for a private education company that sells customized benchmark assessments and professional development to school districts.
I love kids, but I don't have any (just happened that way). I help my boyfriend with his 15 year old son.
I'm very quirky. I don't like the outdoors much, at least not direct sun exposure. I have to MAKE myself go outside for a few minutes a week just because I have a vitamin D deficiency! I'm scared of heights, I like rules and routine, I don't like eating with large forks and spoons, I can't stand to have anything touch the front of my neck (no turtlenecks for me), and I cannot eat a bruised apple! Yeah...I have some issues. LOL! (Just keeping it real. We all have our little things.

My favorite color is yellow. I LOVE sunflowers. Yellow butterflies make me smile. I like Winnie-the-Pooh, shiny things, girly things, pink roses, and electronic gadgets. My guilty pleasure in life is my daily hour of Young & the Restless. I'm not a huge TV watcher, but I do watch the news. I like stations like the History Channel, HGTV, and the Discovery Channel. Shows that are guarantted to make me laugh are Everyone Loves Raymond, Frazier, and Two and a Half Men.
My taste in music is eclectic. Prince is by far my favorite artist. I also love Evanesance, Bon Jovi, and Alanis Morrisette. Old school R&B is amazing, there are no better love songs! I don't really have favorite music type. If I like the song, I like it. That's it. So, my playlist includes Pink Floyd, Sade, 50 Cent, Nelly, Pink, Nickelback, Janet Jackson, Bette Midler, Phil Collins, Mariah Cary, Aerosmith, Little Kim...Yeah, I know it's a bit strange. I guess I just like music!
