Don't give up on yourself and do not fear your doctor. He/she is there to help you achieve your health goals, but no doctor can do the work for you. And yes, it IS work, hard work, but you are well-worth the effort! You must believe that you are worthy of good things like a healthy body from the inside-out in order for you to be successful in your weight-loss endeavors. By the way, cutting way back on refined carbohydrates like low-fiber bread, white rice, regular pasta, white potatoes, sweets/sugar, and alcohol will help you get your triglycerides under control~ stick to the GOOD carbohydrates such as fruits and vegetables (especially berries and dark green leafy vegetables); when you crave a potato stick to baked sweet potatoes with a liberal sprinkling of cinnamon for flavor (no butter or brown sugar needed), as they have a much higher filling fiber content with a lower glycemic index than white potatoes, so they'll fill you up without spiking your blood sugars or your triglycerides. As for keeping your cholesterol in check, the higher your fiber intake the lower your LDL (bad) cholesterol; cutting way back on beef and pork consumption and instead eating more fish (baked, broiled, or grilled but not battered or fried) and skinless chicken that's been baked, broiled, or grilled will also help keep your LDL in check. As for improving/ raising your HDL (good) cholesterol to help keep your blood vessels free of cholesterol clogging, do some form of moderate aerobic exercise DAILY for at least 30 minutes~ nothing beats the effects on both mood and motivation to maintain a healthier lifestyle. Give yourself credit for every good thing you do for yourself, and please stop beating yourself up for every human slip-up along the way... Best of luck to you, SummerGirl13! emoticon

I read that you needed support. Hang in there sometimes it gets hard and also does life. All you need to do is pray about it and" let go and let GOD". This is something my mom taught me and Now that I have gotten older I understand what she means. But I will be praying for you that you will get back on track. emoticon
