For the past 6 weeks I have been running every OTHER day. I have a base of 2.5 miles. At the beginning of the training (6 weeks ago) I slowing added distance. NOW, I am running every other day, but, I do One day of "hills" one day of speed an "easy run" and then I do a long run with 2 days off to follow for recovery. I think that "week" is 9 days long. Then I repeat. On the off days I will walk on the treadmill. As the weather gets better I am hoping to get on my bike. I am not pushing myself. I hope to get where I need to be by the end of April; worst case I will walk a bit. But I really need to do this!!!!
Food....I am trying to train myself to eat it for fueling up. It is sucha challenging thing to learn.
Hey girl! thanks for the encouragement!!! I'm doing good. This evening I started having a bad headache and I looked at the food I'd eaten. I'd only had about 900 cals and only 17 grams of fat. I'm supposed to have at least 1200 cals and at least 30 grams of fat. I think it really affected my mood. I went and had a little more to eat. I'm gonna exercise then try to get some rest. I can't starve myself! I didn't mean to. But damn it really affected me today. Hugs to you! How are you doing on your plan? rae 2356 days ago
I think you meant that you've been running...NOT JOGGING! ;) Excellent on the spring 5k! Yes, I have my first 1/2 marathon in May. I am up to 5 miles so, we'll see. As long as I stick with my training program I should be ok. My most challenging "angle"is food. But, I'm developing some good habits and seem to be on a roll. :)
I hope to continue checking in and certainly would love to offer up some motivation and encouragement. Please, just let me know how to lend you a hand.
