Fitness Fantastics

OK- Time for a change. It is a beautiful, Sunny and Windy Day on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska!

I must admit I have not taken losing weight real seriously in the last couple of years. I had injuries and did not want more. I was crippled for more than six months and in pain. That is behind me now. I am in a new phase of my life, in a new place, so it is time for a REAL New me!

I live in the most beautiful place on earth! For those who don't know- it is ALASKA!

OK- Time for a change. It is a beautiful, Sunny and Windy Day on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska!

I must admit I have not taken losing weight real seriously in the last couple of years. I had injuries and did not want more. I was crippled for more than six months and in pain. That is behind me now. I am in a new phase of my life, in a new place, so it is time for a REAL New me!

I live in the most beautiful place on earth! For those who don't know- it is ALASKA!
OK, some like the beaches, heat and sun. I like the mountains, oceans, rivers, streams and the cooler, sunny weather that goes with them.

I want/need to lose about 25-30 pounds to be at my ideal weight. That is what I would like, but right now I will be shooting for the next ten before the end of this year. I need to firm and tone up so I can keep up with my boy friend who has lived up here for the last 30 years. No, he is not the reason I moved up here, it originally was to open a Natural Medicine Clinic for the Natives, Indigents and those who lived too far from, could not afford or did not trust traditional medicine. Yes, we are getting older, but we don't plan on slowing down much, at least for another 10 years. We just need to be more careful about how we do things. We can't leap over tall buildings or trees anymore! We will leave that for the younger set.

I know I need to cut out sweets, as they are my down fall. I need to stop my weekly visits to the local "Moose is Loose" Bakery (Boy do they have GOOOOOOD Treats). I need to get serious about working out and eating more healthfully. I do eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and good protien. I just need to stop eating the baked goodies. It is hard as I have had them all my life, My mom was a great cook and I LOVE to Bake and share with others.

I need to get in shape for the summer activities around here. I know I will be on the fly with building my home and hopefully getting out and fishing a few times before my brother in law gets here. I need to take him fishng a couple of times too. I can not let this beautiful place go unexplored by me, and I do not mean by sitting in a vehicle doing it. I love to get out and Hike and Walk. I hope to do a little jogging again, and hopefully my joints will withstand it.

My Goals:
To do daily stretching to maintain my flexibility.

To lose 25 pounds, be toned for my health and longevity.

To become better organized in my personal life.

My Program:
Do some Cardio activity daily.

Stretch daily

Do strength training at least three times a week

Learn not to be tethered to the computer continuously..

Originally from Minnesota, now Retired in Kenai and Kasiloff, AK!

I have two Grown Sons, My Oldest Manages a Half-way house for recovering Adicts and my Youngest is a General Manager for Microsoft.

Other Information:
I love to Dance, Exercise, but have knee problems, so can not run as much anymore. I ran the San Francisco Marathoin in 2001 dor my 50th BirthdaY!

My Spinal degeneration has gotten worse in the last year, so I have to stay active, so as to not cripple up. But, I am in mujch better shape now than I was in JAN, in this respect. My flexibility is getting better with the daily stretching and Sciatic Notch stretches. Once I get this move behind me, I can concentrate on Fitness and my other hobbies more, LIKE Quilting, Crocheting, Embroidery and Gaardening!

Hi Just a thank you for your note! It's all of 92 degrees here, all I could do was get on my bike and ride 3 1/2 miles. Sweat was running down in my eyes! Hot hot hot! emoticon

To ALL My Friends on Sparks Pages, Thank YOU for all the comments and Goodies while I have been absent! I love and Appreciate you all. I have been a slug about logging in, but I think about it, just don't take time to do it. I have toooooo much on my plate again.
