I'm 31 and really want to look the way I feel- athletic! I am working towards more definition on my arms, less fat on my stomach, and thighs that don't touch. My weight and BMI are in the healthy range, but I want to look exceptional as well as be fit.

My biggest challenge right now is that I'm not working (unemployed), so I spend the day doing one of my favorite activities- cooking. This leads to mindless snacking, hence my goal to lose weight. I do have plenty of time to go to the gym, and go every day, but then come home and eat dinner and then snack on whatever I baked that day. Another challenge I have is I have a huge mental alarm clock that says "it is TIME to eat, so eat." I really need to work on eating when I'm hungry and not when I just think it's time.

My Goals:
Tighten my body so there is no flab.
Be proud to wear a bikini.
Have skin folds, not fat folds, on my tummy.
Stop watching and reading so many food shows/blogs to cease temptation.


My Program:
I'm exercising 6 days a week at the gym, alternating upper and lower body resistance. I do cardio every day and also take my black lab running a few times a week.

I mix up my cardio with extended time spent at my 80% heart rate but also mix in intense sprints.

For fun I swim or do a spin class.



Personal Information:
I live in amazingly beautiful and eternally sunny Southern California. I am a celiac who eats gluten free food. I'm totally on the organic, nonGMO, locally harvested bandwagon.

    LOL @ "the cottage cheese felt right at home!" hahahha made me chuckle! ;) Nice to know it was all cozy comfy with your eggs!! :D

    I think if/when I do try cottage cheese again I'll buy a different brand, and make sure it's UNSALTED, because the sodium is through the roof on that stuff! Yikes! But thanks again for the idea!! :) This week is a NO-SUGAR week for me, so I'm trying out some different snack ideas than usual that don't use any sugar... check my blog from last night for ideas if you're interested!

    Yay! A buddy to join me in kicking sugar to the curb! I just find that once I give in to sugar I somewhat lose control of my eating altogether and the more sugar I have the more I want so I need to nix it all together. I actually gave it up for lent and failed miserably, I need to make these last few weeks of lent sugar free and carry on with it.
    Great job on the P90X! Keep it up!

    THANK YOU for the suggestions for how to eat cottage cheese!! I really DO want to like it, because it's high protein and good for me... but I've never been able to handle the TEXTURE! The taste is fine-- texture... barf.

    Anyway, I brought some to work today DETERMINED to make it my morning snack, and sprinkled in cinnamon and drizzled on honey (since I heard that was good).... and I like the flavor of it... but I was choking it down, on the edge of gag. So! The rice-cake suggestion HELPED TONS! I have a few rice cakes in my desk drawer for snacks, so I used a chocolate-flavored one with my sweetened cottage cheese, and that made it MUCH easier to eat (even tasty!). I think I'll just need to work on eating it with other crunchy textures to get used to it.... :)

    I am so excited to follow your progress through P90X! I have been wanting to do it now for about a year but just haven't made the commitment. Now that spring has come and I'm able to run outside again I am telling myself that I will do P90X in the fall but don't know if I want to wait that long. You'll do awesome! Let me know all about it, please:)
