I'm a native Indiana Hoosier. I currently work as an auditor and health care consultant with a public accounting firm Indy.

Everything in life is going really well - except the weight! In highschool I was really active in track, dance, cheerleading, and golf- always going, going going. After I graduated, I put on a good 20-30 pounds, and I just can't seem to lose it. In college I joined SparkPeople for the first time, and lost 20lbs. Then between college graduation and moving to Indy, I completely stopped being a Sparker. I worked 45-65 hours a week, and just didn't care what I ate or if I worked out that day; I guess I just got lazy. Then after getting married I was more focused on making meals for my husband that tasted good rather than being good for us. But as the pounds keep adding on (60lbs since highschool), I've realized this has got to stop!

I'm hoping with SparkPeople, my new gym membership, and my husband's encouragement that I'll be able to get back on track and make progress in my major weight loss/fitness goals.

---------------------------------------

Commitment: To eliminate all other options. I heard this definition of commitment in a church sermon in early February 2009 and loved it - so I've made it my personal credo. I want to be committed - in everything I do. Relationships with friends, family, my husband, my new healthy lifestyle of eating right and exercising regularly, my relationship with Jesus Christ, my work ethic - everything!
Now that I've committed to being committed (ha!), I am making a plan and setting goals for myself. After being away from SparkPeople and this lifestyle for too long, I am ready to get back on track.
I want to thank SparkPeople and everyone on it for the support and motivation that's gotten me this far - and for the support and motivation I'm sure I'll need and receive in the future!

---------------------------------------

Thanks for the add! Any suggestions... Hm.. I suppose that the most important thing that I've learned is that it's better to add than take away, and to give yourself plenty of grace. Don't tie weight/weight loss to your success. Take your time. Be patient. If things get hard, focus on maintaining for a little while. We seem like we are on pretty similar journeys! Good luck to you. I would love to talk more some time!
