Hi Everyone!
I have been changing the way I eat since April 07. I am eating healthy for the first time in my life - whole grains, lots of veggies and fruit, no sugar, no artificial sweetners, protein and low fat dairy. I never in a million years thought I could eat healthy! I don't think I had ever eaten a whole grain in my life. I have lost 25 pounds so far but have a LONG way to go. I am excited about the tools and support that this site offers.

My Goals:
1) Exercise, Exercise, Exercise!! My goal is to incorporate walking into my daily routine. This will be a big step for me because I HATE exercise. I am LAZY!

2) Add variety to the fruits and veggies I eat

3) Eat more fish

My Program:
I am eating healthy foods in moderate quantities. My weakness is popcorn - it is a whole grain so I have not eliminated it - just modified it. I pop it on the stove with 1 Tablespoon or less of Smart Balance oil. Another weakness is dark chocolate. I eat one square of at least 70% cocoa extra dark chocolate.

Personal Information:
I love God and going to church. I like to read and watch movies. I have 8 nieces and 2 nephews that range in age from 2 - 14. They keep me busy. I try never to miss a Broncos football game (they have got to be better next year - they can't get any worse).

My family has a business that keeps us all busy. It is very challenging to be in business with your siblings. However, it is also very rewarding. I travel for work which can make it difficult to stay on my healthy eating plan - I need to be prepared with snacks and food that I bring from home.

Other Information:
I love to cook and bake. I have adapted recipes using whole grain flours like wheat flour and oat flour. I have also almost eliminated refined sugar from my life. If I do have a sweetner - which is limited - I use xylitol, stevia powder or turbano sugar.

    Hey, I see you've lost 25 pounds since you started.... I think that's fantastic. I've been researching exercise equipment and from everything I have read... you can lose alot more on an exercise bike than a treadmill. So I think I'm going to buy an exercise bike. OH well...........
