2/18/09: Today is my 1 year anniversary with spark's and I have lost 54 pounds....!! I am on my way to making my goal.....fantastic...!!

2/12/09: It's been nearly a year since I joined sparks. Today I finally passed the 200# hurtle and I have lost 51 pounds....!!


11/18/08: Nine months ago I joined sparks. Today I met my halfway goal. I've lost 35 pounds.

There has been lots of up's and down's.....but without sparks....the down's would have lasted for months....instead of a few days.

I also changed my diet to include more protein and less carbs. Instead of cheerios, fiber one, and skim milk....I have eggs, cheese, or low-fat meat. I've also been drinking 1.5 liters of diet green tea a day....really helps my fluid count. Every few days I have a tablespoon of peanut butter for a snack....still a favorite treat...!!

My spark's goal was to lose all 70 pounds by January 2009.....I know I won't make that date.....but I'm still going in the right direction and hope I can lose the last 35 pounds this next year......


2/18/08: I'm 63 and a professional yo-yo dieter. Enjoying Sparkpeople...especially all the motivation.

My biggest surprise on Spark's....is that I HAVE to eat all my calories in order to lose.

I'm a true creature of habit....eat some of the same meals everyday. Cheerios, Fiber One and skim milk for breakfast. And...I end everyday with whole wheat toast and either one or two tablespoons of peanut butter....depending on how many calories I need to make 1200.

Fingers crossed.....so far it's working !!

Eating at least 1200 calories a day.
Have never exercised as much as I'm doing now.
Treadmill, strength training, and water aerobics.

I'm a 65 year old grandmother of 4, have 3 grown sons, 3 daughter-in-laws, and a husband for the last 39 years. We live in beautiful green Oregon.

I'm a retired RN, love genealogy and have helped lots of friends find their ancestors.
