Giving It All I've Got!

Through my journey I have learned being fit and healthy is something I control. It is up to me to make the right choices, take action and follow through. Life isn't about finding yourself, it is about creating yourself. It took me a long time to accept that maintenance is forever; you don't just do it once and check the box. I'm in this for the long haul, till death do we part.

Happy Friday!
Finally!
It truly is the second best day of the week in my world, the first being Saturday.

I made the list of Paleo books last night to send to you, but Spark was down... the list is at home by my computer (I am at work now). I'll send it over this weekend, the majority of them I put on your page already so there are just a few more. Paleo for Dummies is good, but the best one (so far) is "It Starts with Food". Lots of great info in both.

Have a great weekend and i truly hope you have kicked that funk to the curb!

That's great news! Congratulations on your clean eating day! I'm glad it helped you feel better. I think eating clean is harder when you have an entire family to cook for. There are so many refined carbs in "normal" diet. I think this change has been easier on me, because my husband (even though he's never had a weight problem) and I have been doing this together and we actually started cleaning up our diets in December after we watched Hungry for Change on NETFLIX, then we watched Food Matters, and finally Food Inc. Oh and Fat Sick and Nearly Dead. So we've been leaning toward a Paleo lifestyle since then, but weren't committed to one. From searching the Whole9Life site it seems like they get a lot of support from the CrossFit studios.

Before doing this 30 day experiment, Wine, Margaritas, Dairy (cream, sheep & goat's cheese, greek yogurt) soy proteins, black beans, hummus, and corn tortillas, oh and think thin bars, are the things that we ate regularly that we've had to give up. Plus the things I eat when my husband traveled or when we have company Pie, Ice Cream, cake, cookies, and pizza. So that's really not too many items.

The shockers for us have been just how many things we "used" to make food taste better, like mustards, catsup, sauces, pickles, that contain sugar, chemicals, MSG, and soy oil or proteins. It's CRAZY!

The other day, one of my Whole30 emails contained a link to a YouTube video with Jack Lalanne talking about nutrition, and guess what? Even WAY back then, Jack was talking about the dangers of eating man made foods. And was pushing veggies, fruits, and meats! If only we had listened to him.

Today is my last day with a computer for a little while. My husband leaves for his business trip tomorrow, and won't be back until next Wednesday. So don't worry if you don't hear too much from me. I'm sure I'll still be going strong, but my thumb is just too slow for me to enjoy Sparking. I can type 80 wpm. Hence the blog size message on your page. emoticon

Happy Friday tomorrow. Have a great weekend!

Good evening my friend!

I have been trying to get to your corner of cyber world since Monday (your funday) lol..... but have been swamped at work, can't even find time to redo my page 100 times durning the day at work, that is bad.

Why are you in a funk? What's wrong?
Well, tomorrow is a new day, so don't dwell on the funk,
only one way to go... that is
up!

I have ordered a few more books on Paleo, Well Fed and OMG That's Paleo ( cookbooks); Paleo for Dummies, which is actually a good book so far and The Paleo Diet Revised Edition by Loren Cordain.
Hopefully I will be in a better position to start this 30 day adventure into Paleo land by Monday, the 20th.
I tried to be prepared for it this Monday, but it didn't work out that way....Monday got here before I was ready for its arrival.

Have a great Wednesday! emoticon emoticon

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I googled the spiralizer and ended up finding the best price through Amazon. I sure do like it!
