CURRENT WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE #3

January 20, 2013 - Since my original weight loss plan with SP in 2010, I have maintained my 40 lb weight loss and I'm very stoked about that. BUT, to be the best I can be I need to lose more weight. To be at ideal BMI I still need to lose 25 more lbs and I just don't think I can do it but if anybody can help me get past this plateau, Spark People can so I'm going to try and get motivated and move this fat outta here for good.

January 3, 2012 - I have gained back 10 pounds of the 40 I lost so I want to be accountable for my calories and exercise again with my Spark Family. I certainly can't gain it all back! That is NOT an option. =)

FIRST WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGE
August 25, 2010 - I've reached my GOAL WEIGHT! I lost 40 pounds with the help of Spark People.

The goal weight I thought I could be satisfied with. But I want to do more. I am so happy with my success right now. I am loving it. I feel so good and look great in my clothes but I still have a way to go.

My DREAM GOAL WEIGHT would involve losing 20 more pounds by the end of the year or so. And this is where it gets really hard and involves a lot of commitment. The weight is coming off so slowly now. I'm stepping up my exercise to every single day and keeping my calories at 1200.

January 27, 2010 - Joined Spark People and began My Healthy Revolution! Until I had my 2nd child I always weighed around 130 but now I don't. So I want my body back. I'm 57, live in western North Carolina, I have my first grandchild now, and he especially lit the fire in me to take charge of my life back again. First I quit smoking after almost 40 years and now I'm unstoppable on my journey to lose weight and stay fit. Thanks to Spark People.

SUMMARY

March 15, 2010, I'm right on track with a 2 lb per week weight loss. In 6 Weeks Time I've LOST:

Waist - 4 Inches
Bust - 2 Inches
Hips - 4 inches

FOUR INCHES LOST in my waist is major. And it's enough to keep me stoked for a long time. UPDATE: 08/30/10 - I've lost 10 inches from my waist.

My Goals:
I want to lose weight and I plan to do that by the following goals:

--Losing 2 pounds a week.
--Walk at least one mile daily.
--Cut out sugar from my diet--thank you, Stevia!
--Drink 8 glasses of water daily.
--Get taken off of my blood pressure meds. (I'm already down to half the strength. *I no longer need my blood pressure meds! Yeah!)
--To no longer need my high triglycerides meds.
--Maintain my nutrition tracker and keep around 1200 calories a day.
--Run my first 5K.

SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE!


My Program:
Jan 27 - My fitness routine began slowly. So I'm walking a mile at a time and then resting. I'm not sure what I'm capable of. I have osteoarthritis in some of my joints but I can still do a lot of things and am excited to learn new exercise routines here at SP. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Feb 28 - A mile is very easy now so I'm trying for 2 miles on some days. My joints still hurt but they'll hurt if I'm sitting or if I'm walking so walk on, sistah!

I've also added a little strength training and some cardio. I don't want to get all crazy to where after I lose all the weight I feel I must maintain tons of exercise. Walking/Running 2 miles 5 X's a week is the goal for now AND forever.

March 15 - 2 miles a day is so doable now!




Personal Information:
I am a downwardly mobile 50-something 60s survivor. A political blue dot in a red state. I am back home at High Hopes in the Blue Ridge Mountains where my family is my spiritual plumb line, and my husband and kids are close by. We all love to sing and play guitar. I have a work-at-home job and life is pretty damn good.

We CAN accomplish great things this year. Yes, I have lost weight, gained weight, lost, gained, , , , , , , ,, gave up.
I don't expect much, but can no longer see myself continue to fail.
