Seriously!

I just realized that the last time I updated my Spark profile here was when I had just turned 30. Ummmm. Yeah, I'm 34 now. Whoops. It's been an interesting few years I suppose you could say. I got down to my 'recent' low of 268 the winter before last, and promptly ballooned to over 330 pounds this past summer. If you could win awards for gaining wait, well, I'd get them all! I'm seriously surprised that I've stayed within the same 5-10 pound window for as long as I have...as all over the ...
I'm seriously surprised that I've stayed within the same 5-10 pound window for as long as I have...as all over the place as my eating has been you'd think I'd bounce around with my weight more. Apparently I know exactly how much to eat to stay where I am.

After a few months of living in Colorado, I can say that I'm getting better adjusted to the high altitude, though you can still find me on the side of many trails huffing and puffing. Many days I miss my plain old Forest Park with very few inclines to do my walking and running. Ahhhh, running. I haven't done that for sure since getting here. Putting that on the list of to-do's. Not sure what the change was that made me not put on the running sneaks last spring, but it happened and I haven't run since.

What is first and foremost on my list of to-do's is checking in on Sparkpeople daily. It's very easy to see a history of my successes and let's call it "not such successes" and see that when I'm at a minimum ACCOUNTABLE for what I do, I always do better. So, I'll start there and see how it all goes. :)

My Goals:
1-derland. I don't need to squeeze into single digit pants. I need to have free range of mobility, have a body that doesn't resist what I ask it to do, isn't in constant pain, and doesn't argue about properly fitted clothing. I expect the final number to fall between 180 and 190.

My Program:
The "Moderation" Diet. This simply means I'm not running out to do 10 miles on the treadmill and only eat twigs and berries. It means incorporating more activity into my life on a consistent basis, making better food choices without starving myself, and mostly being aware of what I'm doing and not doing to further my weight loss cause.

Personal Information:
Currently living in Denver, CO with my boyfriend. He is absolutely wonderful, though I'm certain he has something wrong with his eyes as he never seems to see the fat that I do. I'm 34, pet-less and kid-less.

Other Information:
Are there any other Denver (south, Parker-ish or Highlands Ranch-ish) Sparkers that aren't super fast on the trails and wants to get out and adventure with me?

Welcome to the Denver Team!!! It's always good to see a new member from the Mile High City! I'm a native of this great city and just love living here. We could always use a new member to help keep our city in the top 10 cities for Spark America minutes. So, remember to log your fitness minutes on your tracker here. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle!

Summer 2010 STL Spark People Rally!!!

OK, so how's the MO Botanical Garden on July 17 at 9 a.m. sound? We could meet at the Visitor's Center and walk around for 2 hours-there's a 'Health Fair' going on the same day, too! If you're a resident of St. Louis County or St. Louis City, admission is FREE before noon-otherwise it's $8 for adults...the place opens at 9 a.m., so it wouldn't be quite as hot then, but we could do 10 as well...lots to do/see here & plenty of walking exercise & time to get to know fellow STL 'Sparkers'
